INTRODUCTION

'Total Productive Maintenance' (TPM) is a methodology to maximize equipment effectiveness and manufacturing processes through the involvement of all the people in the organization. TPM deals with all Operational aspects of a company through Asset care, hence the name "Total."

TPM is the fundamental requirement to achieve manufacturing excellence that will ensure significant improvement in Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Employee Morale. TPM visibly transforms the workplace and raises the knowledge and skill levels of Production and Maintenance teams.
TPM strives to achieve Zero Losses by achieving Zero Breakdown and interruption including Zero Defect and Zero Accident. Effective implementation of all the 8 Pillars of TPM shall contribute toward realizing the goals in this journey.
TPM leads to significant improvement of customer satisfaction and big savings of cost and time.
But only knowledge or information about TPM is not enough to realize the desired goals and benefits. Some of you may have attended training on Basics of TPM from different sources earlier. Focus and priority have to be on implementation with clear PDCA steps. Having a mere 'wish list' would not be enough, but the will to convert that to 'conviction' is essential. Conviction also has to be converted into 'conduct' to plan and excel in execution.

Keeping this in view, IMTMA is organizing a training program on Understanding TPM and roadmap for implementation of TPM".

The hallmark of this program is learning as well as post learning roadmap to implementation of TPM to get intended benefits from practicing TPM. This implementation PDCA is based on actual steps followed by a JIPM TPM awarded organization.
