INTRODUCTION

Design of workholding & fixturing is key to effective utilization of machine tools. Basics of fixture design if not implemented correctly results in poor productivity & quality problems. Set-up time and cycle time reduction, increased accuracy on components, deskilling the job setting operation are the obvious advantages of a good fixture. Competence in workholding & fixturing differentiates excellent organizations.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association  is organizing a 2 day programme on "Design of Workholding & Fixturing".

  • Design consideration for Manual, Hydraulic & Pneumatic fixtures

  • Trouble shooting of the fixtures to achieve desired quality of component
  • Group Excercises in concept development of fixtures

After undergoing the programme, the participants will be able to lay the foundation for significant improvements by way of acquiring capability to -

  • Various types of fixtures for machining applications
  • Selection of elements for fixtures
  • Design and development of new fixtures for machined parts

This programme will benefit Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Machine & Fixture Designers and other personnel in the functions of Production, Process Planning, Inspection, Service, Engineering & Manufacturing from Machine Tool, Auto & Auto components, General Engg., Defence, Railways, Pumps manufacturers etc.

This programme will be a Mid-level one and the participants need to have knowledge in Engineering Drawing as well as various elements of a machining fixture.

This programme will be addressed by Mr. S K Gupta, Former Asst. General Manager, Machine Design & Business Development, Tata Motors Machine tools division, Pune.

Mr. Gupta is an industry expert with over 37 years of rich experience in Design & Development of General purpose Machine & SPMs. The programme will be highly interactive where participants can solicit feedback on specific technical issues from the expert faculty.





REGISTRATION :  

Prior registration for participation is necessary. Number of participants is limited and will be accepted on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis. A Certificate of participation will be issued to participants.
