Quick changeover techniques (SMED) in Discrete Manufacturing Date : 18 September, 2024 Location / Mode : Bengaluru
Last date for registration 11 September 2024
INTRODUCTIONSet-up changes are an integral part of any manufacturing organization and form a significant portion of available time. When it takes a long time for set-up changes, shopfloor engineers tend to club batches, which leads to longer queuing time, affecting the time to respond to customer demands and putting financial demand for extra inventory. By implementing SMED, queuing time and WIP can be reduced thereby helping organizations to improve customer service, at the same time, reducing the working capital. Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association strives to help the participants to learn and implement SMED techniques so that they can more proactively contribute to the financial well-being of the Organization.
